Nice work with the video and nice improvisation Reggie. Very well done. The creativity of our Viddlers is getting more and more astounding every single day.
I loved the original song by Outkast (Buy now on iTunes), I love Obadiah Parker’s cover (Buy now on iTunes), and now I love this video. Great job Brian, looking forward to seeing more of your work!
I’m very excited to announce that we’re live testing a new player today! This new player addresses our buffering issues that have plagued some of you, and we hope we’ve solved that issue. Help us test it out by watching some video! Please let us know what you think here on this post, or in the forums. Here is what the player looks like, and what’s changed.
In the above screenshot you can see how we’ve given you a really quick way to switch between progressive and streaming download options. If you are having buffering issues, switch to progressive, if not - stick with streaming. Now the choice is yours and your preferences will be saved so that no matter where you view Viddler video - the option will be remember.
Thanks for helping us test this and please provide feedback if you experience any issues with this new player.
Update: Someone asked me to link to a video to test, but we want you to test any video that you’ve wanted to watch but have had buffering issues on. So go forth, and explore!
Update 2: A quick description of the difference between streaming and progressive might be in order here. Streaming a Viddler video will buffer only a few seconds worth of video in front of the playhead. By doing this you’re able to jump around inside of a video as much as you want, right away, without loading the entire video. Progressively downloading a video will download the entire movie in the background, allowing you to watch the movie from the beginning but limiting where you can “scrub” to (which is only in the video that has been loaded which is indicated by the blue background). All other features including timed tagging, video commenting, etc. all remain the same. You will not lose out on any features should you choose to stream or progressively download videos. Any more questions? Don’t be afraid to ask!
Congrats and good luck to both of them as they embark on doing this lifestream thing. Be sure to watch for more updates between Viddler and the iJustine crew. We think they are just getting warmed up.
Rob (sandieman) is doing a great job keeping up with his MeToday videos. Oh, and don’t miss The Clearlake Show where he goes to his parent’s crib in Clearlake California for some wakeboarding, his sister’s birthday, and The Phil.
In this episode of Fresh Lime SodaSuw (SuwC) and Steph (steph) talk about “talk about giving presentations, what makes for good slides, and their top five tips for speaking”. A great episode for sure.
Great tips ladies. Be sure to check out Fresh Lime Soda. Consider me subscribed!
Thanks to realmacsoftware for signing up to Viddler and sharing their videos with us. You guys make some great products and you’re guides are very well produced.
ViddlerRSS was worked on my Viddler Josiah (josiah) and myself (cdevroe) and was derived from a version of FlickrRSS since this plugin already did most of what we wanted to accomplish.
Thanks to Josiah for his hard work on this plugin and to all of the Viddler Viral Team for what we’ve accomplished in just the first week. If you think you can help the Viddler Viral Team spread the word about Viddler through software plugins, graphics, blog posts, etc. - please be sure to check the wiki for details on how to get involved.
You know I’ve been sitting here thinking of what to say about Viddler drkn’s video “Grandma Techno” and I just can’t come up with anything that really describes it well. So, just watch.
Maybe you can do a better job than me at describing exactly what is going on in this video. Is it dancing? A seizure? An earthquake? Who knows.
