What a better way to celebrate the end of a year, or the beginning of a new one, then by watching a taping of ForkYou Live! On January 5th, Scott and Marisa, will be taping ForkYou in Philadelphia and they are inviting anyone and everyone to attend. Count me in!
I’m really excited to finally be attending a live taping of one of my favorite shows on Viddler. If you are going to be in the Philadelphia area (or just feel like visiting) stop on by and watch Scott and Marisa cook up some delicious food and cheer them on as they do it.
How did I miss this? When I attended The Winnies I featured a few videos about the event but somehow I missed this one, by Viddler lanmbui, which runs through the The Winnies photos with some music. Nice.
Thanks to Lanmbui for sharing this video with the Viddler community. Oh, to Viddlers: tag the crap out of this one if you recognize the people in the photos. You should recognize at least a few of them.
Maybe I should do this for the Viddler team the next time we’re all at the office. Shh, don’t tell them - so that it is a surprise. Thanks for sharing this video and this idea!
The Viddler (hearts) Haydenfilms contest, which ran from August 30th through November 30th, is now over and we’ve chosen the winner who will be coming to New York City on January 10th for a red-carpet event with a guest!
Before we let you know who that is, lets cover some of the action that has happened during this contest. Not only did we see some thoughtful and creative reviews of some of the Haydenfilms Online Film Festival contest entries - we also featured the fantastic episodes of Haydenfilms On The Road produced by Haydenfilms.
As the Haydenfilms’ crew prepares for what is sure to be a great event on Broadway in New York City in a few weeks, Directors, Screenwriters, and Actors are all getting ready for next year’s Online Film Festival held by Haydenfilms. The past three years of this contest have been phenomenal and we were really happy to have played a small part this year. We’re looking forward to what next year brings.
If you haven’t already, check out the Haydenfilms Web site to see how you can participate - or even enter in your film for next year’s contest?
Oh, right - the winner! We’re really pleased to announce Joe Erickson (friend: FirstClown) as the winner of the Viddler (hearts) Haydenfilms contest. His review of Living Lightly was the entry that was selected. After getting in touch with Joe he has chosen to bring Brandice (friend: brandice) as his guest. Yes, you read that correctly - SteaP TV is coming to New York City! Watch out NYC!
Thanks to all who participated in this contest, to those that were able to watch some of the really great films featured on the Haydenfilms Web site, and to Haydenfilms for putting together such a great contest each and every year. See you January 10th!
David Gage (friend: Drummerdave), a real guitar hero from Wisconsin, has won awards and competitions for his talent in music with drums and guitar. In today’s featured video he plays a little acoustic guitar.
With all of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band stuff going around these days, it is nice to feature a video of someone that actually can play without looking a screen with colorful icons to help out. Thanks for sharing Dave!
Allison Sheridan, from the nosillacast (friend: nosillacast), recently received her OLPC (something we spoke about the other day) and she’s done a good review of the laptop.
We’ll just ignore that she couldn’t open it and tried to turn it on without putting in the battery, ok? Thanks so much for doing a video showing your first experiences with the XO Laptop.
What do you do when you have off of work for a few days during the holiday season? I know many Viddlers go skiing, so I wanted to provide you with some video footage that will make you want to be extra careful when hitting the slopes.
Thanks to stevenhogg for sharing this compilation video… somehow it is always funny watching people fall in the snow. I hope all of you are having a great week this week - whether you are out skiing or staying at home with friends and family.
Nothing like a new spin on an old classic. Today’s featured video is by The Project (friend: Project), a small band of guys trying to push the envelope of classical music, where they perform The Nutcracker 2007.
You may recognize at least one of these guys. The guy on the flute, Greg Pattillo, was made Internet-famous by his beat-boxing flute video which was viewed over 20 million times. The other two gentlemen are Peter Seymour and Eric Stephenson - both well educated, talented, and renowned for their work.
Thanks go Greg, Peter, and Eric for sharing this really great “remix” of The Nutcracker. I’m looking forward to exploring more of The Project’s music in the new year.
There is only one episode of Charlottenburg Cuisine that has been shared on Viddler, but I figured this one is fitting to feature because it was the Christmas Special episode number 11.
I hope more episodes of Charlottenburg Cuisine, a very well produced show in my opinion, find their way onto Viddler in the near future. If you’re looking for a Christmas related video - we’ve got piles of them to offer. Thanks to all of our Viddlers for sharing your holidays with us here at Viddler.
Hot off the presses is the latest episode of SteaP TV (friend: superteapeople) where they have a new, exciting, and timely intro:
So Joe, now I’m wondering if we can expect a musical piece from you at the beginning of each new episode of SteaP TV? Also in this episode is that Joe bought an XO, or an OLPCPC, which is something I think I want to do at some point. All good stuff.
Oh - and they talk about Calendula Flowering Tea too.
If you have not yet subscribed, or friended, to SteaP TV - I suggest you do so immediately. Now! Schnell!
