At Viddler, we love helping our customers earn money with their videos, and today, we’re rolling out a new service that will make it even easier: Viddler Subscriptions. Now, you’ll be able to sell subscriptions to your video content on a monthly or weekly basis, and you don’t have to worry about handling payments or restricting access—just point your customers to your subscriptions store, and we’ll handle the rest. And, thanks to our multi-format encoding, your customers will even be able to view your videos on their iPhone or iPad.
Our resident video wizard, Billy Disney, put together a video to explain how subscriptions can help you make money from your videos:
If you’re an existing B2B customer, you can start selling your content right away by activating subscriptions. If you’re not a B2B customer, you’ll need to sign up first.
As Viddler’s resident dogfood eater, I’m constantly trying to find ways to enhance our site with original video content. There’s one part of Viddler in particular that has been long overdue for a video-enhanced makeover: the Learn More section. Our Learn More page is where new users come to learn about our product, and what better way to help people really understand and experience what our product is than through the use of video?
But our Learn More page was stale and static, and we weren’t the only ones noticing it. People around the web were starting to chime in:
A little passive-aggressive? Maybe. But honestly, I really only use Twitter for two things: grumbling about other websites, and complaining about the loud noises my neighbors are making at 2 AM when I’m trying to concentrate on grumbling about other websites—so I understood where Mr. Woolley was coming from. Point is, Ryan was right. For a company that preaches the gospel of online video and its promotional powers, we weren’t really following our own doctrine.
So we decided to get righteous and not only harness the promotional powers of video, but also put together a page that shows off some of the unique features that Viddler has to offer. Andrew and I bashed our brains together, and this is what we came up with:
The video provides a comprehensive 2-minute overview of what Viddler has to offer. I did this by breaking our features up into 4 sections which are outlined below the video itself. And thanks to Viddler’s unique timed tagging functionality, a visitor can easy skip to any of the sections by clicking on the play buttons next to where each portion is outlined. This functionality even works on iOS devices like the iPhone and the iPad.
And this story ends like all happy stories on the internet should end. With a tweet:
So head on over to the Learn More page and check out the new video. I’m forgoing embedding it here in hopes that you’ll go experience it on the proper page. Not only is it an example of what Viddler can do for you, but we think the new Learn More page is another great example of what you can do with Viddler.
