We’ll see you at MagicRuby in Orlando, Florida!

Published January 27, 2011 by Colin Devroe in Announcements

The Viddler team (well, Kyle Slattery and I) are heading to MagicRuby in Orlando, Florida next week. We’ve put together a special page for this event at viddler.com/magicruby so be sure to keep your eye on that page as well as the @viddler, @cdevroe, and @kyleslattery Twitter accounts.

Why are we going? We have three reasons to attend and support MagicRuby. First, we want to encourage developers to meet together, learn from each other, and to build great products. We too are developers that enjoy great events like this so we want to do what we can to help make them happen. Second, we think Viddler is a great platform to build innovative products ontop of – so we’re letting the MagicRuby audience, and those watching from their desks at home, know that it is easy and downright fun to use Viddler as their online video solution. Third, we’re hiring! We are looking to expand our Rails developer team and we think MagicRuby is a great place to meet with potential new Viddler team members.

To add to the fun Kyle and I will be conducting short, fun video interviews with all of the speakers and as many attendees as would like to be interviewed. We hope this will help them to spread the word about what they are up to and allow some of the information at MagicRuby to find its way out of the Magic Kingdom. So stay tuned to viddler.com/magicruby as there will be many videos and other updates showing up there soon.

If you will not be at MagicRuby but are interested in working at Viddler – send us a note to jobs@viddler.com

See you in Florida!

Apostrophe 1.5 – Now with Viddler support

Published January 19, 2011 by Colin Devroe in Announcements

Our very good friends at Punk Avenue in Philadelphia, the very same guys behind the amazing CMS Apostrophe, have just released Apostrophe 1.5 which now includes support for Viddler.

What does that mean? Apostrophe’s media support is probably better than most CMSs. It makes it very easy to add photos, video, and audio using your favorite web services and even manage that content from within Apostrophe. It will even sync with your Viddler account, as an example, to make sure that all of the information is up-to-date both in Apostrophe and on Viddler.

They are quite clever, those Punks.

This rounds out fairly nicely the offerings for major CMSs with Viddler integration including WordPress, Drupal and Habari.
