C-SPAN StudentCam 2009 Winners
Education is near and dear to my heart. I was involved in the NSF Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program to get 4th-12th grade students excited about STEM subjects – and I loved working with the middle school kids – how their minds worked, their thought process, and figuring out how to make the light bulb go on for them.
In the same vein, I’d like to present to you an amazing group of middle and high school students. They are the 75 winners of the 2009 StudentCam Contest. The topic this year was ‘What is the most urgent issue for the new president to address after taking office, and why?’ The students’ videos are well done, thought provoking, and in some cases, very emotional. You can see the winners here and their videos here.
Each day in April, at 9:30 AM ET, one of theses videos will be aired on C-SPAN. Watch C-SPAN LIVE online. On the same day we’ll feature that video. Please take the time to watch. These are the issues, opinions, and concerns of our next generation.
