Playing The Cure on Ukulele

You may have heard that the latest Viddler VidChallenge is a musical instrument challenge, and I thought that some of you might be looking for ideas, so I chose a music lesson for today’s feature. You might not be interested in taking up ukulele, but maybe the music will inspire you to create a fantastically musical video of your own today.

Aldrine of Ukulele Underground (friend: ukeunderground) offers some really amazing and straightforward ukulele lessons that provide great basic information on ukulele playing for beginners (and beyond), good equipment to invest in, and this one teaches the viewer to play an entire song by The Cure.

As musician, I remember that the first thing I wanted to learn when starting music lessons was how to play just one song, so I really like that this episode provides very a patient and straightforward lesson based around a song, so that even a beginner will be left with something recognizable to play for friends. Great job, Aldrine!

    Excellent choice! Wow, I’ve always sucked at guitar and guitar-like instruments, but I actually felt like I could have played parts of this song after watching the video. Which is extra-cool, because this is one of my favorite songs of all time.
