As you know, we held the HotHardware Hottest Hardware Contest throughout the month of November. It was an exciting ride seeing everyone’s cool gadgets and devices. Some were even out of this world. Literally!
There was only one Flip UltraHD up for grabs, so there can be only one winner.
I’d like to give an honorable mention to Dave Yankowiak (contest video), Coasterfreak900 (contest video), and SwampWaterFilms (contest video) for their creative and fun displays of their hottest hardware.

Here we are. The last day of the HotHardware Hottest Hardware Contest (see original post). For those that prefer to procrastinate until the last possible moment, then today is the day for you.
Dave Altavilla of HotHardware (subscribe) unboxes the Flip UltraHD that one lucky winner will receive very soon. What a tease! The UltraHD records in HD 720, has an HDMI connection to connect directly to your HDTV (yes, and a USB port), and comes with rechargeable AA batteries so you can get started recording videos as soon as you unbox it yourself.
You have until midnight tonight to get your submission(s) in at contests.hothardware.com. Remember, it’s supposed to be fun and quick. You can see all the details about the contest in the original announcement.
The winner will be announced later in the week and will also be contacted by e-mail.

From installing new hard drives into laptops to overclocking the latest Intel chipsets, they’ve got all your hardware needs covered! You can also compare prices between products (memory, HDDs, SSDs, computers, etc) right on their website.
Alrighty! What can you win in this contest?

The Obox Signature Series Contest
David and Marc Perel founded Obox Design over five years ago in Cape Town, South Africa. They have experience ranging from blog design to full site customization. In my opinion, they have created some of the best designed websites on the Internet!

In the week leading up to April 1st we held a competition open to everyone in which you had to fool the audience of your video that you were being honest.
I’ve held all of you in suspense for long enough, so let’s announce the winners.

Rog42 from Sydney, Australia, tricked us in to believing that we could get a discount from Microsoft by getting a tattoo behind our ear. He really does work for Microsoft, so was really sly. See his video below.

The Cheeky Tricks
The only other participant in this contest was CheekTV. Their April Fools’ Day video was featured here on the blog and showed some fantastic ways to prank your friends in and around the home. Nice! Watch CheekTV’s video below.

Every year Google seems to top everyone with their April Fools’ hoaxes. They sure have had some creative ones! This year I’d want to see everyone in the Viddler Community have a crack at pranking someone — nay, everyone! — with a good April Fools Day joke!
Upload your video(s) before or on April Fools’ Day (April 1st), add them to the group on April 2nd, and you’ll be in the running to win a USD$100 gift voucher from ThinkGeek OR Amazon! AND a Viddler t-shirt.

You can buy pretty much anything from ThinkGeek: Wi-Fi detecting t-shirts, power outlets for your car in the shape of a coffee cup, candy tablets that make sour foods taste sweet… you name it, they’ve probably got it. For everything else, there’s Amazon.
