Where are you spending your summer vacation? Don’t have tons of extra cash to plan one? Trip On A Deal is exactly what it sounds like – videos about trips that won’t completely empty your wallet.
The latest episode from Trip on a Deal is 8 Historic Stays in America which shows some of the best historic places to go on vacation in America on the cheap.
No doubt you’ve been inundated with tweets, e-mails, and feeds containing those big four letters — SXSW. It’s on again!
Rachel (Community Support) and I are heading to Austin, Texas, to attend the interactive portion of the event, and we’re excited to hang out with you all again!
Just like last year we’ll be giving away some Viddler goodies, recording tons of video in an around SXSW, and having lots of fun!
We also have a huge box of candy, chocolates, and other treats. Keep an eye on the following Twitter accounts to find out where we are and you’ll be able to pick up some of our goodies: @Viddler, @djsteen, @heyitsRachel.
Of course, all the best videos from SXSW will be at sxswvideos.com — tag your videos with ‘sxsw’ for your video to appear on there.
This week on the HotHardware (subscribe) & TechVi (subscribe) podcast is all the latest information from the laptop and netbook world, including the chipsets and operating systems inside said hardware.
Intel and Nokia have joined forces to create some mobile devices based on the Linux operating system. These devices will be expected to compete with Apple’s products and Google’s Chrome OS & Android OS.
Marco from HotHardware had the chance to review the Micron RealSSD C300 SATA III SSD. At $799, it’s a little pricey for 256GB, but it’s the only SATA III SSD on the market right now and the read/write speeds are blazin’.
Follow @HotHardware on Twitter for the latest technology and computer news.
Ahh, the holiday about “love” is back. There’s even a romantic comedy movie about it — Valentine’s Day — out at the cinemas. No doubt all you cute couples out there will go and see that. And you singles will be stubborn and shun the flick while munching on delicious boxes of chocolates that you treated yourself too.
Well, whether you believe/acknowledge in the holiday, or not, it’s still an excellent time for entertainment. Of course, Awkward Kids (subscribe) are back for another sketch and cupid is much more serious than you think!
What plans do you have for this commercialized event? Or are you saving your bucks?
Apple has been touting that there are over 140,000 applications in the App Store for the iPhone, iPod touch and soon the iPad. That is a lot of applications to look through to find what you need, what you want, and what is fun to use.
Viddler iPap, which stands for iPhone App Podcast, has been hard at work bringing you video reviews of these applications. They’ve got over 585 video reviews (so far)! Here is one for one of my favorite iPhone applications – Pano – that allows you to take panoramic photos using your iPhone.
Thanks to iPap for putting in all of this hard work reviewing these applications so that we don’t have to. Looks like they only have 139,500 or so to go!
moredirt (subscribe) is an online mountain bike and cycle community founded by Carl Billinghurst whom is based in the U.K. It features the latest biking news & events, reviews of bikes & trails, a discussions forum, and all of it can be localized to your part of the world.
This is one of those communities as much about the offline experience as the online one. Riders from around the world collaborate projects and events online and then put them in to practice face-to-face. It has me giddy to see what the Australian mountain biking scene is like; I haven’t ridden my own mountain bike in several years and just browsing moredirt.com makes me want to go out and get a new bike as soon as possible.
Of course, when there’s a recreation like biking, then there’s awesome videos to be make. The video below features some fast riding on narrow trails, and you get to see it all from the rider’s POV. Rad!
If you’re looking for an awesome community of riders to engage with, then look no further than moredirt.com; follow them on Twitter: @moredirt.
What kind of riding do you enjoy? BMX, mountain biking, or road cycling?
If you’ve been following @RSHotel on Twitter, then you’ll know that they’ve been giving away free nights at their hotel in NYC. They have been giving bloggers the power to give away these free nights valid for redemption during the month of January (2010).
Today it’s Jill Hanner‘s (friend her up!) turn to show off one of the rooms you could be staying in!
Just leave a comment on her video here stating what two things you would do in New York City. Pretty simple, hey!
Welcome to the “Zack Attack”! 22-year-old Zack Follett (friend him up!) is an American football linebacker for the Detroit Lions. He previously played for the California Golden Bears until around mid-2009.
Zack just started video blogging at the beginning of 2010 and he’s been keeping it legit! First and foremost, he has rocked out to music in every video so far; a good beat makes for a solid video. He’s also about to sell a couple of Super Bowl XLIV that will be accompanied by a limited edition Super Bowl artwork created by Zack himself. Every single penny of the sale will be donated to the Haitian relief efforts. (All details of the sale will be updated here when they’re available.)
T-Rave (friend him up!) welcomes everyone in to 2010 and he’s pumped for it too! You should be too! Seriously, Travis has so much passion you might just want to go start a karate class!
He teases with some geeky gadgets like an Intel motherboard and a Blackberry Curve 8530. Make sure you subscribe to T-Rave to catch the reviews of those products when they’re posted.
Last week Ramon DeLeon (friend him up!) flew to Dallas, Texas, for Southwest Air’s Annual Marketing meeting. He documented his experience with Southwest Air along the way and spoke to every Southwest Staff member he encountered.
If you’ve ever flown Southwest Air, then you’ll know how giddy the staff are and how enjoyable the flights are. Plus, two free checked bags. Yeah, that’s awesome!
If you’ve never flown Southwest, then you don’t fly much… right? Next time you need to fly throughout the continental United States you should definitely consider Southwest!
