We’ve launched our forums!
We’re really excited, and proud, to announce that we’ve just launched our forums! These aren’t your average run of the mill forums though, as you’ll soon see, we allow you to put video responses into these forums rather than just plain text.
We’ll be slowly making this process much more efficient in the future, but I’ve setup a short list of instructions to add your video to your forum post (which is the same way you can include a video in your blog as well).
Instructions to put a video in our forum/your blog
1. Record your video.
2. Click the + button.
3. Choose share.
4. Click the ‘Copy code’ button.
5. Go to the forums, and PASTE that code into the response text box.
More formal instructions and a demo video coming soon, but for now we’re having too much fun playing with our forums.
Oh, and I’m spending the day at the Viddler HQ so be sure to check out my live blog of the day. I’ll update everyone with some insider info on Viddler later, when Rob isn’t looking.

January 20, 2007 - 3:33 amHey, can you add a “Brainstorming” subsection to the forums? I think it would be a nice place for visitors to drop off ideas about possible uses and niche markets that Viddler could explore (I’ll probably be the only one posting).

Why cant work on private or shared :/ (well I guess “Shared” is better)

January 22, 2007 - 2:43 pmjoker999: Great question. Any video set to private or “Shared” can not use the “share” feature. The main reason is because Viddler would lose control over privacy if it were to allow users to put Private video on your blog, or in a forum.
If you want to use a video in a blog or forum, it is mandatory that you set that video to “public” so that the public can view it.
Thanks for the question.
