Bretislav Pojar – Potkali Se U Kolina (1965)

Published August 20, 2007 by Colin Devroe in Featured

Viddler Ms_Valerie shares this animation from 1965 by Bretislav Pojar a famous Czechoslovakian animator. This video was shared on the excellent Cartoon Brew which has more background on this animation:

“Between 1965 and 1967, Czechoslovakian animator Bretislav Pojar made a series of six shorts called Hey Mister, Let’s Play. The mostly stop-motion cartoons star two bears…” “Below is the first short—”Potkali se u Kolina” (”How They Met At Kolin”)—which introduces the characters.”

There is even more information on Cartoon Brew but here is the animation they are talking about below.

This 12-minute stop-animation short is just great. Though I can’t understand a word of it, the animation, quality, and story-line are all really fantastic. Visit Cartoon Brew for more information. Thanks for sharing Ms_Valerie.

    That’s a cool animation style.

Yeah. The quality is amazing and I have no idea how he pulls of stop-animation with no floor or background (or so it appears). Definitely very cool.
