Project Pedal: 64 Days - Part 1

Posted in Featured by Colin Devroe on March 19, 2008

‘Pedal’ is a documentary which “will bookend with the Pacific and Atlantic oceans… anchored to a small group’s cross country trip and focusing on the inspiring people that cross their path”. Project Pedal (friend: pedal) is a video podcast, of sorts, documenting the production of the documentary.

Today’s featured video is Episode Six: 64 days - Part 1 from Project Pedal and the visuals are amazing, the production quality is excellent, and I can now say I’m addicted. Video podcasts aren’t generally known for their high-quality, high-production values but more and more we’re starting to see better examples.

You can read more about the documentary on their official site.

If Project Pedal does this nice a job for their video podcast, I’m really excited to see what they are able to produce for their upcoming documentary. It is obvious the making films is a very trying experience, and we here at Viddler wish them well in their obvious effort to make a great, lasting film.

Don’t forget: If you would like to suggest a video to be featured on our blog please send me a message, use our forums, or just comment on this post.

Agreed, this is a great video. I’ve been wanting to do my own documentary and have begun the process of collecting video clips. I see I have a long, hard road ahead of me. A video like this gives me something to aspire to. Thanks for sharing it.

Maria: After watching the “making of” for many documentaries, I’ve noticed they are all extremely hard work.

What would your documentary be about? My first guess would be researching, writing, and editing a book?

[…] Mike, from Project Pedal a video blog about a documentary, after being featured on Viddler by me, does a really great analysis of his experiences on various video sharing sites including YouTube, Blip, Viddler, and Vimeo. “It’s been interesting though seeing which sites generate the most feedback, interaction, conversations, etc.” […]
