WebJam 3 presentations!
WebJam (Webjam) is an event in Australia that feels much like the Ignite event in San Francisco or in Seattle (see some Ignite videos) in that a set number of presenters are given only a few minutes to show off their product or service in front of an audience. That audience is then able to vote, via SMS messages, for their favorite presenter. Here is a short overview video to pique your interest.
This video is only a taste of each presentation which are all archived on Viddler and I recommend checking out each and every one because all the presentations are great. Some of the things coming out of Australia look really promising!
More Webjam videos
Here is a list of all the presentations that have been archived here on Viddler with links to the respective services as well. I really wanted to have a list of these for myself so I thought I’d share them with you. By the way, the play buttons will, only work on our blog (and only in streaming mode) so click through to see all of these videos in an easy way.
Phil Morle of OmniDrive introduces WebFS.
Microsoft Developer Evangelist, Scott Barnes, shows an application he’s building in Silverlight.
Stephen presents on social computing and knowlege sharing. You can see his slides here.
David Wang shows off Google Mapplets.
Lachie Cox demonstrates his Faces application.
Earle Castledine demonstrates Thetan Eater.
Laural Papworth launches EEEI EEEI O. Sounds interesting.
Chris Stephens demonstrates Rapid Web Development with Ruby on Rails.
David Gravina of Digital Eskimo demonstrated the activist site they built for Amnesty International Autralia; Close Guantanamo.
Charlie Brewer shows off tools for journalists used by news.com.au.
Dylan Jay and Virginia Choy demonstrate their social wine recommendation engine called introvino. I love the name.
Lachlan Hunt speaks about the VIDEO tag in HTML 5. More info on his blog.
Carl Panczak & Brett Warren, of Reactive, present the site they built for the Global Corporate Challenge.
Bronwen Clune shows off her citizen journlist powered site called Perth Norg.
Danielle Szetho, of Binalogue, shows off some really neat brand experience she built in Flash.
Andrew Spaulding demos a quick app he built that integrates a website with Google Gears and then runs an Adobe AIR app from the Gears database.
Aaron Wallis demonstrates a fun little application that he built called Yes, Prime Minister.
Sam Arnold demonstrates an e-Health app called I-Can.
Matthew Rietdijk demonstrates Live Q+A which is a natural language search engine. Pretty neat.
Thanks to the Webjam team, especially my friend Lachlan Hardy, for sharing these videos with the Viddler community. I’m hoping to one day make it to Australia in order to attend one of these events down under!
Update: Lachlan has reuploaded, and adjusted, a few videos so now the list is complete!
If you would like to suggest a video to be featured on our blog please send me a message, use our forums, or just comment on this post.
