Argentina’s Gualeguaychú Carnival
If you’ve ever watched Dance Trippin’ TV, then you’re aware that Europeans know how to party. Big time. We’re talkin’ all night; none of that ‘clubs close at 2 a.m.’ nonsense!
Planet Earth is a massive place though, and the folks down in Latin America know a thing or three about parties too!
In summer every year Argentina’s small province of Entre Rios hosts the Gualeguaychú Carnival. During the months of January and February the City of Gualeguaychú (map) dresses up to present the Carnival of the Country. It’s one of the most expected shows in the area and thousands of enthusiastic people come to enjoy the brightness of the costumes, the joy of the parades, the thrill of the long nights, and the rhythm of the social club’s local dance group (comparsas).
Of course, the awesome guys from LatinLocoTV (subscribe) set off on an adventure to check out the event during its last weekend before concluding until next year. They arrived on a Friday evening to discover that the party was already well underway in the street and on the beach. You’ll see they visited the beach on Saturday morning. It was filled with hundreds of intoxicated youths who’d been partying all night. It’s almost like spring break, but for two whole months!
The guys see how some of the extravagant costumes are made and worn for the parades, and stay up all night dancing in some of the biggest and best nightclubs in the area.
This is one of those videos of an event that is effectively a great tool for tourism. You just may want to go party hard at the Gualeguaychú Carnival next year! I’m sure it’s unlike anything places like the USA and Australia can offer.
Who made this, yo?
