BostonTweetup TV #21
Two of the key aspects of social media are community and communication. The fact that there’s countless tools to communicate with your community means that there’s no excuse to leave them out in the cold about what’s happening with your company, service, or event.
For many, Twitter has become the main way of reaching out to their community. (We’re @Viddler; cry, love, or question us anytime.) Tweetups are a way of extending that online virtual communication in to an offline meeting; putting a real person in place of their avatar. At a tweetup you’ll generally have a theme, but also be able to have meaningful conversations about anything with any of the attendees.
Boston is a city with many influential social media mavens. Thus, it’s no surprise that Boston hosts frequent tweetups, podcamps, and other events surrounding new/social media.
BostonTweetup TV (subscribe) is a weekly video blog in which Rachel Levy (@BostonMarketer) and Joselin Mane (@JoselinMane) discuss how the past week of tweetups went and what to expect the upcoming tweetups of the week. In this episode they also talk with Robert Collins (@RobertCollins) about Social Media Breakfast.
Social Media Breakfast 15 is this Friday the 7th of July, 2009. PodCamp Boston 4 is this weekend (8-9th of August).
Make sure you follow @BostonTweetup for more updates.
