Why good morning, Viddlerers! How’s life in your part of the world?
I’m gonna make sure you have a giddy start to the week with this today’s music video by the Danish band Efterklang.

The first thing you see when choosing a video to watch Viddler (or any other site with video content) is the thumbnail and title. For most, the decision to watch a video will be what the thumbnail is, and secondly the title. For video creators the thumbnail and title can be the make or break of a video.
Today’s video has a thumbnail that symbolizes the earth & ocean while being subtle enough to ingrigue viewers and make them want to find out what the video is about; the title describes the video very well.

Matthew Brown (friend him up!) is an independent filmmaker from Seattle, Washington, that loves visual storytelling. He created the official music video for the song “Doppelgänger” by Efterklang. Matt truly does his art of visual storytelling justice with this video. It’s full of amazing environments and the animals in them. The music just fits perfectly!

About the band

Efterklang is an indie band based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The band formed in 2001 with members Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen, Thomas Husmer, Rune Mølgaard and Rasmus Stolberg. When performing live those five core members are joined by three or four closely-related live band members. They play a wide variety of genres including rock, classical, electronica, choir, and glitch (experimental electronic music).

Fun facts: ‘Efterklang’ is the Danish word for remembrance or reverberation, and ‘Doppelgänger’ is the German word for a look-alike of a person.

In Denmark, they own and operate the friendly label Rumraket. Their music is distributed worldwide by the British The Leaf Label.
