No Haters Here

Published December 30, 2008 by djsteen in Community Spotlight, Featured

It seems as though the ever increasing YouTube haters have managed to get a few legitimate users banned from YouTube. Due to YouTube’s size, there probably isn’t a human dealing with each of these claims. Which is a bummer for them.

Hey! We’re not complaining though; we love taking care of our users at Viddler. Just don’t be a hater. ;)

If you’ve been hesitant on coming solely to Viddler for your video needs, then — besides all of the amazing features for video producers — let me remind you that famous YouTubers like PhillyD, Rhett & Link, and iJustine are all on here. LisaNova has a few videos up, but seems to be slacking. I’m looking in to that.

Darryl (subscribe) was one such person to get his YouTube account banned. He’s sticking with Viddler now.

Do you feel welcome in the Viddler Community? Let me know about your experiences. :)

    Hello Darryl,
I’m not fully aware of your story … and whether you’re an instigator of hate or a target of hate mongers … in the long run, it doesn’t really matter.
You’re here making a new start – or another start – from where you were before. I’ve never been a fan of YT – and stories like yours make me glad I’ve stayed away all this time (grin).
I’ve watched a couple of your videos here, and you seem sincere in your desire to continue doing what you’re doing and get your reputation repaired on YT … (from what, I’m not quite sure yet). I’m just not sure why? Those who know you will follow you … those who don’t follow you will be replaced by much more concerned and considerate viddlers; not to worry.
Which brings me to the point … your story will circulate around YT, and if anyone there is curious, they’ll come look for you and find you here. If they were fans over there, they’ll come here to watch your videos as well (hopefully, your patrons aren’t so narrow-minded that they won’t follow you outside YT).
I’ve had a librarianship email list that moved from site to site over a 10-year period (four different sites) … and if the group is worthwhile, the members will follow. . . it’s as much a group adventure as it is a personal one.
All that to say that viddler is to online video what Mac is to personal computer … they have a great niche, and if you give them a chance, they’ll be as satisfying as your Mac.

    Until that time. . . Earl J.
