December 15, 2006 - 3:59 amRegarding video technique: We are using Flash Media Server streaming technology. It provides us instant on delivery and low buffer times. Technically much different then most of the other video sites as it allows us to deliver best fit video streams for everyone’s need.

December 22, 2006 - 12:44 pmIt seems the video quality is compromised for better streaming.
Do you keep the original uploaded file in your servers or do you delete them after converting this to flash
Robert Sandie says
December 23, 2006 - 10:05 pmappuchan: We are retaining all sources but downloading them is currently not an available feature.
We are concerned over how we should be distributing these. Part of our commitment to you is secure delivery via Flash Streaming. That being said, downloading original source should be made available to the creator and individuals he chooses. We just want to make that process as secure as Flash Streaming so give us some time and we will have this available.
This is a known feature request and will be working diligently to make this happen.

December 28, 2006 - 1:23 pmLove the look, clean layout and, as others have said, the speed. Seems to be able to offer more detailed video than the others, too. I look forward to getting more involved with the site!

I have been “shopping” around for the best place to put my videos and so far, with uploading and viewing speed and quailty, you guys are way ahead.
Nice work.

January 7, 2007 - 7:51 pmIn regard to features that would be nice to see, I have several to suggest:
• An option to allow the video to appear in it’s original size rather than expand to fit the entire window (when possible since some videos are larger than the original window to begin with)
• Some javascript to help make it easier to create simple pop up windows for Viddler videos, similar to what you just did for the video switch feature.
• Some guidelines to resizing your embedded video, for example “add 42px to your window height to allow for the time line bar”.
I think Viddler rocks, I’ve been trying to spread the word any way I can!
